Question 6
What plotline do you want to see resolved?

The eventual rescue of Moiraine from the land of the Snakes and Foxes (58) 22.5%

Mat's marriage to the Daughter of the Nine Moons (58) 22.5%

Egwene's army conquering Tar Valon (36) 14%

Rand, Elayne, Aviendha, and Min all in the same room with the door locked and one really big bed (84) 32.6%

Perrin saving his wife, Bain, and Chiad from the Shaido by risking his soul in the process, even though this was apparently meant to be in Path of Daggers, but who cares, right? (22) 8.5%

John spoke for many of us when he wrote, 'I'll settle for seeing ANY plotline resolved in the next five books'. Amen, brother. Ashaman asks, 'Am I the only one who is curious about Ogier sex? Let's see Loial drop this un-hasty business and get it on with his female Stedding friend!' There has to be some reason why Ogier males are always stroking trees... The Duke just wants to see 'a whole lot of carnage and a whole lot of loving'. Hey, who let in the Melrose Place producer? MT Cohen voted for the Moiraine plotline, adding, 'She's been gone for too long! I love her! I would fight Lan for her! Oh Moiraine, please take me back!!' Have you noticed how quickly this is devolving into a Springer show?

Five people voted for all the plotlines, which to me is wishful thinking at its most delusional. But everybody wants to know what's going to happen with Rand and his girls, and I just keep thinking about all the wonderful hidden uses of the One Power...

Question 7
All right, time to be as blunt as possible. Who's your favourite character?

Mat (100) 32.9%
Perrin (32) 10.5%

Rand (30) 9.9%

Min (30) 9.9%
Moiraine (24) 7.9%
Aviendha (16) 5.3%
Egwene (14) 4.6%
Logain (12) 3.9%

Bela (12) 3.9%

Nynaeve (12) 3.9%

Thom (8) 2.6%

Other characters getting votes: Logain (7), Gareth Bryne (6), Lan (5), Moridin (4), Verin (4), Berelain (3), Cadsuane (3), Faile (3), Juilin (3), Tylin (2), and the Dark One (1). I must admit, I never would have expected Bela the horse to garner as many votes as Nynaeve. I leave you to draw your own conclusions on that one. As usual, Mat is the clear winner in the popularity contest, which only makes his omission from Path of Daggers that much more glaring.

Question 8
If WOT was a TV show, which one would it resemble the most?

Beverly Hills 90210 (back when Shannen Doherty was still on the show) (14) 5.6%

Buffy the Vampire Slayer (assuming Buffy was Rand, and Giles was Moiraine) (48) 19.4%

South Park (Cartman is Nynaeve) (62) 25%

ER (huge number of characters with plotlines that never seem to end) (110) 44.4%

Dawson's Creek (Dawson's forehead is tall enough to match Rand's height, don't you think?) (14) 5.6%

Kaggzz voted for South Park, noting that 'the Amyrlin would be Mr. Hankey, right? But then I don't think the Tower would be White...' Actually, I thought the Amyrlin was Kyle's mom. Dan Neiss suggested The X-Files, 'where plots can be extended indefinitely with a hunch that there is secretly a money making scheme behind the shockingly minimal amount of resolutions and a plethora of new complications'. Say that five times fast. Kevin B voted for Dawson's Creek, and added, 'Cut Joey's hair and let me spell MIN on her belly in KY jelly'. Stalk much?

ER was the big winner, although it was nice to see a few Buffy fans jump into the fray. Other shows getting votes were: The X-Files (4), WCW Nitro (4), Party of Five (3), Melrose Place (3), Jerry Springer (3), Friends (2), Homicide (2), Sesame Street (1), Geraldo (1), Scooby-Doo (1), and Dr. Who (1).

Question 9
Who / where is Demandred, really?

Duh, he's Mazrim Taim! (94) 38.8%

He's with the Seanchan, goosing the Empress with the True Power (26) 10.7%

He's Dashiva, but only during the week; on the weekend, he's a Chippendale dancer (20) 8.3%

He's Jahar Narishma, because only a Forsaken would think of such a cool-sounding name (28) 11.6%

Demandred = Bill Gates... Come on, it's so obvious! (74) 30.6%

Sydo Zandstra has solved the mystery: 'Isn't Taim Old Tongue for 'Gates'?' Danfield surmises: 'You are Demandred, and this is obviously an attempt to fool us'. Note to self - hunt Danfield down and kill him. Honest Bob notes that 'they seek him here, they seek him there, they seek that Demandred everywhere!'. Just like Urkel! The Creator's second cousin (three times removed) weighs in with this analysis: 'He's Bela's bitch'. Ouch. Ravriem disagrees: 'He is BELA! Come on... that innocent horse act fools NO ONE!' The Purple-Haired Amazon is confused: 'Demandred is Bela! He's Moiraine in drag! No... I need some more of those nice pills'. You're all wrong; Demandred is quite obviously Rush Limbaugh.

People persist in believing that Demandred is Mazrim Taim - what's up with that? Do you really think that Jordan would be that obvious, especially when he's aware of the consensus Demandred/Taim theory on the Net? Imagine if it were true, and we find out. Wouldn't that be a bit of a let-down?

Question 10
So how many books is this series going to need, anyway?

What, isn't it over already? (4) 1.6%

As many as Jordan needs to write until he can sell the movie rights to Spielberg (he's buying time) (26) 10.5%

A baker's dozen, but we'll have invented time travel by then (46) 18.5%

Twenty, but the books get shorter and shorter until the last one is only three pages long, and two pages are used for maps (56) 22.6%

As many books as it takes, so quit your whining already! (116) 46.8%

248 Total Votes

Kaggzz has the final word on this one: 'The only thing written in the last book - "The Dark One's dead. Not appearing in this book: Mat."'

Other guesses: 13 books (4), 42 books (2), 10 books (2), 184232 books (1), 576.3 books (1), and infinite books (1). My guess is that Jordan will finish the series when he's had enough of our constant bitching and whining over how long it's taking. :)
